1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Autzu, Inc. ("Autzu", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit our website, install or use the Autzu mobile applications, rent a vehicle, or otherwise interact with our services. It applies to drivers, partners and visitors.
We are committed to handling your information transparently and using it only for the purposes described below.
2. Information we collect
Account information
Name, email address, phone number, date of birth, driver\'s licence number and photo, government ID, profile photo, employer or rideshare-platform identifiers (e.g. your Uber driver ID) and Private Transportation Company licence (Toronto).
Payment information
Credit or debit card details, billing address and transaction history. Card numbers are tokenized and processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
Booking & vehicle data
Booking history, vehicle assignments, hub usage, charging sessions, mileage, telematics (vehicle location, speed, acceleration, battery state, fault codes) and incident reports.
Device & usage data
Device identifiers, IP address, operating system, app version, log files, and approximate location (when permitted by your device). The Autzu Driver app may record basic usage events necessary for safety and product operation. The autzu.com marketing website does not currently run third-party analytics, behavioural tracking, or marketing cookies; if we add them in future we will update this policy and, where required, request consent.
Communications
Records of messages, support tickets and feedback you submit to us.
3. How we use your information
- Verify your identity, eligibility and driving record;
- Process bookings, payments, refunds and invoices;
- Operate, secure and maintain the vehicles and hubs you use;
- Provide customer support, roadside assistance and incident response;
- Comply with insurance, regulatory and tax obligations;
- Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, safety incidents and violations of our Terms;
- Improve our products and services through aggregated operational data; and
- Send you operational, safety and (with your consent) marketing communications.
5. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services, meet legal or regulatory requirements (including insurance, tax and safety record-keeping), resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it.
6. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. You may exercise these rights through the Autzu app or by contacting us at privacy@autzu.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
You may also unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any such email, and adjust location and notification permissions through your device settings.
7. How we protect your information
We use industry-standard administrative, technical and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, regular security reviews and vendor due diligence — to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
The Services are not intended for individuals under 18 (or the minimum age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact privacy@autzu.com and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Autzu app, by email, or by posting an updated version on our website with a new effective date.
