Terms & conditions.
The agreement that governs your use of the Autzu app, hubs and vehicles — with additional terms specific to the Uber EV rental program.
Last updated: January 2026
Part A — General terms
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Autzu, Inc. ("Autzu", "we", "us") and govern your access to and use of the Autzu mobile applications, websites, hubs and any vehicles, services or content made available through them (collectively, the "Services").
By creating an Autzu account, booking a vehicle, or otherwise using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Services.
2. Eligibility
To register for and use the Services you must:
- Be at least 21 years of age;
- Hold a valid driver\'s licence that has been issued for at least one year and is recognized in the jurisdiction in which you intend to drive;
- Have an active credit or debit card in your own name;
- Pass any background, driving-record or identity checks that we, our insurers, or applicable law require.
We may refuse, suspend or terminate accounts that no longer meet these requirements at any time and without notice.
3. Account & security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. The Autzu Driver app is the sole authorized method of accessing rental vehicles. You agree to notify us immediately at drivers@autzu.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
4. Acceptable use of the Services
You will not (i) use the Services for any unlawful purpose, (ii) reverse-engineer, scrape or interfere with the Services or their underlying systems, (iii) misrepresent your identity, or (iv) use the Services in any way that could damage, disable, overburden or impair our systems or another party\'s rights.
5. Fees & payment
Fees for individual Autzu programs (including the Uber EV rental program) are set out within the relevant program terms and inside the Autzu app at the time of booking or purchase. You authorize Autzu to charge the payment method on file for all amounts owed under these Terms or the applicable program terms.
6. Intellectual property
The Autzu name, logos, software, designs, vehicle branding and all related content are owned by Autzu or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services solely for their intended purpose and subject to these Terms.
7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Services are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Autzu\'s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will not exceed the amounts you paid to Autzu in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
8. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, posed a safety risk, misrepresented information, or engaged in fraudulent or unlawful activity. You may close your account at any time by contacting drivers@autzu.com. Outstanding charges survive termination.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Autzu app, by email, or by posting an updated version on our website with a new effective date. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law & contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the rental hub used for a given booking is located, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where binding arbitration is required by applicable law.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to info@autzu.com.
Part B — Uber EV rental program
The following terms apply when you book or drive an Autzu vehicle through the Uber EV rental program. They are in addition to, and incorporated into, the general terms above.
1. Additional eligibility for Uber EV rentals
In addition to the general eligibility requirements above, drivers in the Uber EV program must:
- Maintain an approved Uber driver account in good standing;
- Have a smartphone with both the Autzu Driver app and the Uber Driver app installed;
- In the City of Toronto, hold a current Private Transportation Company (PTC) driver\'s licence; and
- Meet any city-specific licensing requirements imposed by local regulators.
2. Bookings, pricing & payment
You may schedule rental bookings through the Autzu app for periods between 4 and 16 hours per booking. Rates start at $7 per hour and vary by city, vehicle, time of day and how far in advance the booking is made. Pricing in effect at the time of booking is the pricing that will be charged. Unlimited mileage is included. Autzu does not guarantee any level of driver earnings on Uber or any other platform, and Autzu does not monitor driver earnings; earnings are determined by Uber and the driver’s own activity.
The payment method on file is automatically charged two hours prior to the start of each booking. We do not require a security deposit or pre-authorization hold. Bookings are non-transferable. Cancellation policies appear inside the app at the time of booking.
3. Use of the vehicle
You agree to operate any Autzu vehicle safely, legally and only for the purposes permitted by these Terms and applicable law. You will not:
- Permit any person other than yourself to drive the vehicle;
- Drive while impaired by alcohol, drugs or medication, or in violation of any traffic law;
- Smoke, vape, or transport pets without an approved carrier in the vehicle;
- Use the vehicle for racing, off-road driving, towing, or any unlawful purpose;
- Take the vehicle outside the country of pickup (cross-border travel between the US and Canada is not permitted); or
- Tamper with, disable or modify any vehicle systems, sensors, telematics or branding.
4. Driving on Uber and other platforms
Autzu vehicles in this program are approved for UberX, Uber Comfort, Uber Green and Uber Premier. Uber is currently the only platform integrated with the Autzu app; integrations with additional platforms are forthcoming. You may also use the vehicle on other supported rideshare and delivery platforms (Lyft, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart) during your booking window without the integrated experience. Any platform-specific incentives, including the Uber Zero Emissions bonus, are governed by the operator of that platform and are not guaranteed by Autzu. Autzu does not guarantee any driver earnings.
5. Insurance & incident response
Each Uber EV rental includes comprehensive commercial insurance (full collision and liability) issued in the name of Autzu, in coverage amounts that meet or exceed the minimum required by local law. Personal property left in a vehicle is not covered.
In the event of any accident, theft, damage or mechanical issue you must (i) ensure the safety of all parties, (ii) contact emergency services if required, (iii) tap the Help button inside the Autzu app to notify our 24/7 support team, and (iv) cooperate with our subsequent claim process. Failure to report an incident promptly may void coverage and result in additional charges.
6. Charging, returns & damage
Free supercharging is included at every Autzu hub between shifts. Public charging (Tesla Superchargers and CCS networks) is billed to the driver at standard rates.
You must return the vehicle to an Autzu hub in the same city as your pickup before the end of your booking window, parked in any open stall with the doors closed. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as received, normal wear excepted. Excessive cleaning needs, missing items, damage beyond normal wear, or late returns may incur additional charges as outlined in the app.
7. Driver responsibilities
You remain responsible for any tolls, parking fines, traffic violations, damage charges, cleaning fees and other costs incurred during your bookings. These amounts may be billed to the payment method on file. You agree to keep all vehicle documents in the vehicle at all times and to comply with all instructions provided through the Autzu app.
